Fabulous Fifties' Love

What are we doing today? We are going back to the fabulous fifties. And so, I watched this film-Sabrina, casting eternal beauty, Audrey Hepburn and the dashing Humphrey Bogart and William Holden as the protagonists.
Sabrina: [writing to her father] I have learned how to live, how to be in the world and of the world, and not just to stand aside and watch. And I will never, never again run away from life. Or from love, either.

The very wealthy family of  Larrabees  which include two brothers- The elder brother, Linus Larrabee (Humprey Bogart), and the younger, David Larrabee (William Holden), are introduced in the opening scene. The two, very handsome brothers are contradictory to each other, whether be it in the terms of marriage, success or their overall personality. Then we find Sabrina (Hepburn) on a tree, carefully watching David and the girl he is dancing with.
Sabrina: I hate girls who giggle all the time.
Sabrina has a long time crush on David, which makes her envy of every girl he sees him with. David never notices Sabrina and to him, she's always been a "nobody". The next day is big for Sabrina as she is heading towards her new life in Paris. (Yes, PARIS!). And she is NOT very happy with this decision. ( I know, it's hard to digest) So, she leaves a suicide note in her father's room and goes off  to die when Linus saves her.
Been two years, and Sabrina returns. Oh! you should see such a lady she looks now. Very elegant, beautiful and very, very classy.( Givenchy did it right!) David takes a turn and now he has fallen head over heels for her. (Who wouldn't, anyway) There comes the story of THE MERGER. David is going to have his fourth marriage with Elizabeth (Martha Hyer) which would help the Larrabee business to soar higher. Well, but David is in love with Sabrina and denies the marriage proposal. To keep the merger going, Linus has a plan. The movie revolves around how Linus helps Sabrina get over David.

What I love about this movie:

One) Sabrina herself. Audrey Hepburn will make you speechless, she is that beautiful and elegant! How can I NOT love this icon!

Second) Humprey Bogart, and his irresistible personality.

Third) The fifties' fashion. We'll discuss it in the next segment.
